My recommendations

Books play such a huge role in my life. If you were to find me anywhere with 15 spare minutes, you would see me with a book in hand, or if I can’t hold a physical book, my Audible app is always on.
It’s the books (and my travels, to a large extent) that have opened my horizons and expanded my worldview. While my upbringing and environment have certainly shaped who I am today, it’s the power of the books I have chosen to read that has truly made a difference.
My conscious parenting journey began with a book… and an open mind. I have tried (very hard) to get into some novels, and while I adore authors like Elif Shafak and appreciate the storytelling of Tiziano Terzani, as well as the romance of the Brontë sisters, I often find myself gravitating back towards themes of personal growth, self-mastery, spirituality, philosophy, and the mind-body connection. I can’t help it.
When I thought about the books I want to introduce here, I faced a bit of a dilemma - there are so many amazing titles I want to share! I aimed to choose the ones that truly made a change for me. I have divided them into different sections and put a star next to the ones that have had the greatest impact on my life personally. After all, I’ve read these books over the last 20 years, and as we know, each book can resonate differently with us depending on our readiness to absorb its teachings. As they say, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
I have included a short description for each book so you can prioritise what you need right now. Thankfully, with today’s technology, we can listen to books on the go. If you’re like me - spending long hours in the car or hiking in the woods - you can gain insights and knowledge wherever you are!
Keep an eye on this list because it’s organic, and it will be changing and growing… just like you!
